Artist StatementAbout the Artist
Born in Copenhagen, and educated there as well as in Paris, Nils Obel came to the United States after mounting many outstanding exhibitions throughout Europe. He received numerous prestigious awards for his work in Paris and Antwerp.
His work here in the United States has included commissions for a wide variety of his work. Of special note is a major exhibition titled "Ocean Planet" staged by the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC.
His work has been widely exhibited in the United States and he has received notable critical review throughout the country, as well as in his home state of Maine.
